Company profile: We offer a remote trekking experience in Mongolia for the more adventurous rider. We will be exploring new routes in 2008 and are looking for people to join us for some seriously exciting riding. You will have plenty of opportunity to be a part of the fascinating nomadic culture, as you ride through mountains, forests and steppe. All treks are accompanied by a western guide.

Destination Profile: Mongolia is the ultimate horse trekking destination, a vast land of forested mountains and wide open steppe with almost no roads and no fences (or gates to open!). With no private ownership of land you are free to ride and camp anywhere. The local people in the countryside are still mainly nomadic herdsmen, moving with their herds of horses and yaks, and flocks of sheep and goats. Their hospitality to strangers is legendary. The climate ranges from pleasantly warm during the summer to incredibly cold in winter, but it is almost always sunny hence the name 'Land of Blue Sky'.
About the horses: Mongolian horses are small (nothing bigger than 14.2hh!) but amazingly tough. They are not shod and are left to fend for themselves during winter.
